Cheapest way to travel from one city to another in Italy?

pb k asked:

I will be going to Italy from Dec 18 - 26.
I was thinking train is probably the cheapest way to travel from one city to another. Can anyone confirm this?
Also what’s an estimate price?

The citys I will go to are Venice, Milan, Florence and Rome.
also, will it be cheaper if I book the train online rather than buying them at the train stop?

Thanks!

I will be traveling in Europe by train. Does any one know anything about train travel in Europe?

GQCPA asked:

How long does it take to travel by train from Paris, France to Milan, Italy?
Should I buy the train tickets here in the U.S. before I leave, or should I buy in Europe?

Thanks for any help!

Traveling Italy?

I think,therefore I am asked:

We are planning to go to Italy in April. We have only four days in hand. Can anybody pls suggest some travel plan.We will start from Rome.Is it possible to cover venice, milan and Pisa if we first go down to Capri and then start to travel upward? How is the public transport in Italy? Somebody told us that it is problematic especially in cities if we hire a car.Streets are narrow and there are parking problems. Is it convenient (and suitable for us to cover the country in only 4 days) to travel by public transport with a child?Another thing, can u pls suggest a reliable, informative(train information etc.) tourism site other than italia.it.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks red_bilb from Umbria. Thank you the third answerer for the rly. information too.I too was tnot sure of that plan. That’s why I was checking your views. It’s not to be pessimistic or something like that.I know that it is hard to tell ,but can u (or anybody here) can suggest what part of Itally we should not miss. The cultural, historical, architectural part of venice, Milan, Rome or the overwhelming beauty of the Amalfi coast and the Blue Grotto of Capri. To be honest I am in dilemma.

What city should I visit in northern Italy for two days?

compstond asked:

In my study abroad program, I have a four day weekend in Europe coming up and want to travel somewhere. I will be spending the first two days (Friday and Saturday) in Nice, France and want to spend the other two days in northern Italy while I am close. However, I am unsure where in Italy to go.

The cities I am considering are:
- Genoa (because it is so close and a French/Italian riviera tour sounds fun)
- Milan (because it is so big and I could probably find plenty to see and do here)
- Florence (because I have heard it is beautiful and has a lot of art)
- Venice (because it is a big tourist spot, although this also puts me off)

Having said this, I am open to any other suggestions. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Dawah in Milan, Italy :)?

J.A asked:

It has come to my attention that the ignorance some italians have when it comes to islam is astonishing.

I’m getting sick of it and I believe as a muslim i have the right to educate and invite them to the most perfect religion in the world.

There are only 1 million muslims in italy alone. And im sure most of them by far, do not originate from italy.

So i’m going to ask for some help from my great brothers and sisters.

Where can i get islamic resources for the dawah? (qurans, info booklets … etc)

I also am looking for any knowledgeable muslims who want to help out.

ANY advice on giving dawah will be awesome :)

Thank you so much

May Allah swt bless you, save you and guide you! AMEEN!

Salam.
Tony - I think YOU need to see a physiatrist instead of being brainwashed by what the media tells you!

Retard.
M.D = You’re not a real italian, then ;) Thank you all brothers!

You’ve helped me so much alhamdullilah.

I hope myself gain something from this and i hope you all start giving dawah in your country where ever you are inshAllah!

We need to spread the truth and clear all ignorance that the shayda’an and media has spread to the west! Ameen ya rab. :)

Travel to Italy. Advice please?

asked:

I’ll be leaving the U.S. for Italy in a few weeks. I could use some advice as to what I should pack. I’ll be going to Lake Como, which I understand is a resort-type area rather than a metropolitan region, like Rome or Milan.

I know that I’ll need power-plug converters, but what else would come in handy? My laptop will run on the 220 current and will make the other adjustments.

Also, I could use some insight regarding a simple conversation guide.

In advance of your assistance, thank you.

Milan to Paris - cheapest way to commute?

Madhu Satyamurthy asked:

Hi Everyone,

I am in Milan, Italy for about a month and half. I have covered few places in the week ends. I would like to visit Paris (I have Schengen visa).
The night train fare from Milan to Paris is around 100 Euros one way … which is a huge amount. Is there any train which is cheaper than this ? I explored the flight options but even that would be slightly lesser or almost same.

I prefer to travel over Friday night and would like to stay in Paris for a night on Saturday and return back on Sunday night. I am also exploring the cheapest hotels there.

Please guide me …

Advance Thanks,
SM

Beautiful places in and around Italy?

Madhu Satyamurthy asked:

Hi,
I am in Milan, Italy on business trip. I have seen Venice, Pisa-Florence and Lago Maggiore lake. I plan to see Rome as well.

But, apart from these, do you suggest any must see places in Italy. As I am from India, I would like to see something which is famous and probably I have read in my History or Geography classes. Do let me know.

Also, I am also exploring options to visit neighbouring countries like France and Switz. Do let me know nearest places from Milan to other countries also.

I am looking at cost effective and places which can be covered in 1 day and maximum 2 days in the week end.

Thank you for all those who are guiding with all my previous questions.

Rgds,
SM

Should we book tickets or guides in advance for Italy sites in Rome, Florence, Venice and Milan?

haris_el asked:

Hello,
we are going in italy in 10 days, and we are thinking of buying tickets or book guides in advance for some monuments.
Should we also book with tour operators in advance? Or shall we wait to go outside the Collosium or Vatican palace , for example, to get a guide?
For example in Ufizzi and Borghese gallery i read that i should book in advance. However i dont know if i should do the same for all the monuments.
I am thinking of bookin thorugh www.tickitaly.com.

Thank you!

Please recommend a great Italy tour guide for us?

windy33 asked:

We are a group of 6 in our early 30s, most married, and business working professionals who need a nice vacation before some of start thinking about starting a family. We want to visit Rome, Milan, Florence in about 12 days. Since it’s our first time, we want to visit the major sites, do some serious outlet shopping, and enjoy some fine dining, and maybe visit some special experiences like visiting a winery or taking an italian cooking class, etc. We would sincerely appreciate a referral to someone who can plan all of this out for us and guide us all over Italy. We are definitely willing to pay for a great experience since we don’t get to travel as much as we’d like to. We would like to stay at nicer hotels, ideally some with elevators. Thanks in advance!!
